Preta Wolzak is a dutch artist currently based in Amsterdam. She was born in the Netherlands in 1967. She works with a lot of mixed media in her work including collage, acrylic, and embroidery. She has done many projects covering a wide range of topics. Some of her recent works have included “Fighting Females”, a series about important women who are barely mentioned in books or other publications. Another is titled “Arctic Charades” which takes the viewer to a world of optimism and beauty, while also opening an underlying dialogue on how people treat the world and the consequences that follow. I find her work very interesting. I’m interested in embroidery art, and her work includes that along with other elements. I love how she uses many different techniques to create a full work of art. I love how she can create a full portrait using nothing but thread! I think her artwork is really beautiful. Sources:
